Basically Bob the old method involves uploading pics to our website hosting, and pics are (relatively) big – file-size wise, and every-time someone views a pic on the site it uses up some of our website bandwidth. Our bandwidth is finite and basically is what you pay for to host the website, so it costs us money basically to have the uploading ability.
We don’t earn any money from the site, we do have the sponsor us button which I think about 3 people have donated to us in the past. And yes we have links to our sponsors, but truthfully, I think Billy has received a small payment from two of these (about enough to run the site for 4 months in it’s current state – so no great treasure I assure you! ), the rest are just links to other sites I have produced.
Basically it costs a lot more to have the pictures uploaded to us. If you have specific problems regarding uploading pictures via Flickr and any other picture hosting sites, I’d be happy to try to help. I have made a couple of how to videos on how to do it also, so please take a look at those first. Here’s the link…

Basically, on the old forum a LOT of space on the website was taken up by pictures of what people were posting. Too much unfortunately, as some forum members were uploading huge pictures, not literally huge, as in the dimensions, but filesize huge.
Really as a website host, you don’t want images to have a big filesize as it takes up more space on the server (where we host the website), and it takes longer for a web browser (chrome, firefox, etc) to download the images from the server and display them so that, you the viewer can see them on your computer or laptop.
Ideally, you want images to be less than 100Kb in size (what’s a kilobyte? Click me to read up).
On the old forum people were uploading some images that were over 2 or 3MB in size (what’s a Megabyte? – Click here to find out the exciting facts!).
Which is frankly crazy big for what is needed. As a result, the forum was massive and was really slow.
On the new forum we’ve decided that we aren’t going to allow people to upload images to the site.
But don’t worry you will still be able to link images into the forum from other sources, such as Flickr.
I know you think it’s complex, but it really isn’t. If Billy can do it, you will have no problem, trust me!
I’m planning to do a series of video tutorials to walk people through how to link to images from flickr, or videos from youtube, and other basic forum and site functionality.
I’ve just started recording one to show members how to upload an avatar so they can use it on the forum, and more will follow suit ASAP.
Hi George, we don’t have a members list.
People can introduce themselves though in the Introduce Yourself thread in the forum.
Also every member has a site Profile which can be filled in with details about yourself if you wish.
Click on your name at the top right hand side of the screen when you are signed into the site to access your profile.
To view other peoples profiles, click on their name that’s beneath their avatar in any forum post they have posted on.
I’m glad you stalwart gents are both here!
I’ve just set John (wijohn) a new password with details how to get on, so hopefully he will be up and running on here soon too.
If you know of anyone else who is having problems signing up or logging in, tell them to email me and I will try my best to get the on here as soon as I can.

It’s a new site, so there will be some teething problems as there always are, but I’m confident things will get going again once we’ve ironed out all the kinks 😉
How do we post pictures with this new forum?
Hi Bob, I’m working on a video tutorial on how members can sign up for a Flickr account to host their pictures. This is part one of a 2 part tutorial.
Part 2 of the tutorial will show you how to add images linked in from Flickr.
I know you already have a Flickr account, and are eager to get posting pics, so just for you here’s part 2. Part 1 will be coming soon for the people who need to set up a Flickr account!
