RobertParticipantMy, My Billy this topic brings back some memories considering I used to travel this route every morning and return every afternoon on my way to and from St Chads college, Fallings Park by Trolleybus. I can only remember the name of the Elephant and Castle pub, I have forgotten the other. The sports shop belonged to the Wolves winger Jimmy Mullen, I believe he opened one near Monmore green at a later date. Happy days!

RobertParticipantI am looking forward to the day when I get more than one participant in the weekly Quiz . But never mind I shall persevere. The answers to No.4 Was as Tony said the Queen Mother. The Date was 1969. and the clue was the gentleman with the dog collar obviously a clergyman. The venue was St John’s Church. Wolverhampton.

Billy, I for one would participate weekly if I had any idea of an answer to the question but it is pretty pointless if one has no idea at all!

RobertParticipantMay I also welcome you to the forum Neswulf? What a wonderful selection of pictures you have on Flickr, it’s a shame you weren’t round and about in the good old days of the Trolleybuses with that camera of yours!

RobertParticipantIn the old days the cap ribbon would read ” Sea cadet corps ” nowadays it reads T.S> Newfoundland. The T.S. standing for Training Ship.

RobertParticipantBilly
I’m sorry to have missed this post, perhaps it arrived when I was in hospital.
Funnily enough I have read it from top to bottom but I must admit I don’t ever remember the article, in fact there is very little I remember from my sea cadet days after all we are talking of something that happened some 60 odd years ago. Very interesting though. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

RobertParticipantThank you for the explanation Daniel, I was beginning to think I was the only person logging in to this forum.
Billy, the Palace hotel used to be in Birkdale,Southport and had quite a history being supposedly haunted. It was demolished many years ago.
Thank you for posting the picture’

RobertParticipantWell done Daniel. I was going to ask about posting avatars but my main question is:-
How do we go about posting pictures? In the old forum it was quite a simple task, can’t we have a similar way of posting our pictures in the new forum?
Regards, Bob.

RobertParticipantThank you Billy, I am still awaiting a reply from Daniel.
The Flickr method is too complicated for my skills, surely there is an easier way?

RobertParticipantI most certainly remember “SNAPES” the gents outfitters. Mr Snape used to give me the odd lift to school in my earlier years, he lived about four doors above where lived in Uplands Avenue.

RobertParticipant“CONGRATULATIONS” George, this means that there at least 2 members signed up with the new “Lost Wolverhampton” forum, you and me!
I have been in touch with Billy and in the near future I hope to see the forum pick up (fingers crossed)
